How Gratitude can Change your Life

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.”

It is all about living your life as if everything were a miracle, and being always aware of how much you’ve been given. Gratitude shifts one’s focus from what life lacks – to the abundance that is already present.

Behavioral and psychological research has thrown up surprising life improvements from the practice of gratitude. Giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient, it strengthens relationships, it improves health, and it reduces stress. Well-known American psychologists, Michael McCollough and Robert Emmons, have been experimenting with the concept of gratitude, its expression in real-life and its impact on the well-being of their experiments’ subjects. One of the things these studies show is that practicing gratitude can increase happiness levels by around 25%. The practice of gratitude raises the “happiness-point” which can be likened to a thermostat setting – so that one remains at a higher level of happiness – regardless of one’s circumstances.

So how does one literally ‘practice’ gratitude ?

Some people keep a gratitude journal. Lately – we’ve been urged to write things we are grateful for – in the form of little notes and keep them in a jar from the beginning of the year and take them out towards the end of the year. And remember all the things we need to be grateful for. Some simply offer gratitude for the day coming up or gone by when they sit down to pray or meditate. Each one to their own.

We have a lot to be grateful for at the Tree of Life. With the grace of the Universe and the consistent effort put in by our very passionate teams across all our properties – we have now created our niche – as a boutique luxury chain of resorts that creates magical experiences in quiet, evolved spaces. We combine a personalised experience with all the amenities, detailing and services of a full-sized luxury resort. Managing the best of both worlds for our discerning guests who recognize our true worth. In boxing they call it “punching above your weight class” – and we are proud to be able to stretch ourselves to make this happen.

In other news – we launched our brand new refreshed website – . We set up our blog and embarked on a regular communication outreach to all our key stakeholders.

We’re looking forward to adding more properties to the Tree of Life . Who can deliver the signature Tree of Life experience which is best …experienced ! There is a lot of hard work being put into the construction of the Tree of Life Resort coming up at Varanasi. Our opening is scheduled for November 2016. The Tree of Life at Agra is no longer just a twinkle in our eyes as land has been purchased and construction would begin in time for its November 2018 opening.

We continue to offer gratitude for all our experiences and our blessings, And for challenges that come our way. Rather than simply waiting for a positive experience in order to feel grateful. In this way, we believe we will be on our way toward becoming a master of gratitude.
