Queen of the Hill Stations

Be regaled by Mussoorie, the Queen of the Hills as you walk along the charmingly chaotic 2km stretch of Mall Road. Start from the Picture Palace in the East and walk to The Library in the west end as you encounter glimpses of colonial heritage in the architectural styles of vintage buildings that still stand tall. Located just 15 minutes away from Tree of Life, this epicentre of Mussoorie has a lot to offer with shopping avenues, chic cafés and restaurants.

Landour and Lal Tiba

A quick 20 minute ride through the snaking mountain roads or a 40-minute scenic walk through the pine and cedar forests from Tree of Life takes you to a quaint town, lost in time is Landour, a cantonment town best known for Ivy Cottage, the spatial muse and inspiration where Ruskin Bond churned out his most famous novels. On the way back, stop at Char Dukan, a row of four shops, literally, and indulge in some delicious snacks.

Ropeway to Gunhill

Gun Hill, a curiously named place towers over Mussoorie at 400 metres above the mountain city. A exhilarating ropeway takes you to the top of the Gun Hill for panaromic view of the city and the hills around. The legend behind the name is that, back in the days when clocks and watches were not the most reliable, the highest point of Mussoorie, Gun Hill, alerted the hour of the day through the sound of gunshot!
